Industry news

We are a national high-tech enterprise. At present, there are many kinds of self-woven and cooperatively processed fabrics, including microfiber warp-knitted towel cloth, weft-knitted towel cloth, coral fleece, etc.

What is the difference between polyester and Poly Spandex Woven Fabric?

Composition:
Polyester: Polyester fabric is made solely from polyester fibers, which are derived from petroleum-based products. It is a durable, strong, and lightweight material.
Poly Spandex Woven Fabric: Poly Spandex Woven Fabric, also known as polyester spandex or simply spandex, is a blend of polyester and spandex fibers. The exact composition may vary, but it typically consists of a majority of polyester fibers with a small percentage of spandex.

    Stretch and Elasticity:
Polyester: Polyester fabric has limited stretch and elasticity. It does not have the inherent ability to stretch and recover its original shape like spandex.
Poly Spandex Woven Fabric: The inclusion of spandex in the fabric blend gives it excellent stretch and elasticity. Spandex fibers provide the fabric with the ability to stretch significantly and then bounce back to its original shape when released.

    Comfort and Fit:
Polyester: Polyester fabric is generally comfortable to wear, as it is lightweight, breathable, and wicks moisture away from the body. However, it has limited flexibility and may not offer a close, body-hugging fit.
Poly Spandex Woven Fabric: Poly Spandex Woven Fabric offers a greater range of motion and a snug fit due to the stretch provided by the spandex fibers. It is often used in activewear, sportswear, and other garments that require flexibility and a close fit.

    Applications:
Polyester: Polyester fabric is versatile and widely used in various applications. It is commonly found in clothing, home textiles (bedding, curtains), upholstery, and industrial materials.
Poly Spandex Woven Fabric: Poly Spandex Woven Fabric is commonly used in activewear, sportswear, swimwear, and other garments that require stretch and mobility. It is also used in medical textiles, such as compression garments.
